Anatase-type TiO2 solid solutions doped with 0–10 mol% scandium were formed by hydrothermal crystallization under weak basic conditions above 180°C for 5 h from amorphous co-precipitates that were obtained from the aqueous precursor solutions of TiOSO4 and Sc(NO3)3 using aqueous ammonia. The anatase particles were spindle-like and consisted of nanosized-crystallites (23–25 nm). The lattice parameter c 0 of anatase and the length and width of the spindle-like anatase gradually increased when the scandium content was increased. The diffuse reflectance spectra of the as-prepared TiO2 doped with scandium showed that the onset of absorption slightly shifted to longer wavelengths with increasing scandium content. The band gap of anatase was slightly increased by making solid solutions with scandium oxide.  相似文献

This paper considers a standby-redundant system consisting of 2 systems, in which one is main and the other is its standby-redundant system. These systems also consist of 2 subsystems connected in series.A feature of this system is that the system has 2 switching devices connecting subsystems, in addition to one connecting main and standby systems, in order to utilize surviving subsystem. InxGa1−xAs-based ohmic contacts which showed excellent contact properties for n-GaAs were demonstrated to be applicable to p-GaAs ohmic contacts. These contacts, prepared by radio-frequency sputtering, provided low contact resistance (0.2 Ω-mm), excellent thermal stability, smooth surface, and good reproducibility. The contact resistances had a weak dependence on the annealing temperatures, which was desirable in a manufacturing view point. This weak temperature dependence was explained to be due to a unique Schottky barrier height at the metal/p-InxGa1−xAs interface which does not depend on the In concentration in the InxGa1−xAs layer. The present experiment showed the possibility of simultaneous preparation of ohmic contacts for both n and p-GaAs using the same contact materials.  相似文献

No single musculoskeletal disorder has generated more passionate discussion than bone osteonecrosis. Surprisingly, its physiopathogenesis remains largely unknown despite in-depth studies. Its treatment is still debated, and its wide range of clinical manifestations which vary from totally asymptomatic to the catastrophic event of irreversible epiphyseal collapse remains a fascinating question for the clinicians (1-4). Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has given a large tribute to the discussion during the last decade by allowing detection of marrow infarcts at a presymptomatic period of the disease, thus providing data on its natural history. Unfortunately, MR imaging has also contributed to increase the confusion among various epiphyseal disorders. The aim of the current paper is to provide an overview of the current knowledge of imaging features by stressing accepted data and delineating blind areas.  相似文献

STUDY OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of adding the nebulized anticholinergic drug ipratropium bromide to standard therapy compared with standard therapy alone for acute severe asthma (peak expiratory flow rate [PEFR] < 50% of predicted) in children presenting to the emergency department. METHODS: Ninety children aged 6 to 18 years were randomly assigned to two groups in a prospective, double-blind, placebo-controlled study performed in the ED of an urban children's hospital. All children received nebulized albuterol solution (.15 mg/kg) every 30 minutes, and all received oral steroids with the second dose of albuterol. Children in group 1 received ipratropium bromide (500 micrograms/dose) with the first and third dose of albuterol those in group 2 received saline placebo instead of ipratropium. Pulmonary functions (PEFR and 1-second forced expiratory volume [FEV1]) and physiologic measurements were assessed every 30 minutes up to 120 minutes. By chance, the baseline values for percent of predicted PEFR and FEV1 differed between the two groups. Therefore a multivariate model accounting for both time and baseline effects was used to compare the response between groups. RESULTS: On average, and adjusting for baseline measures, children in the ipratropium group had a significantly greater improvement in percent of predicted PEFR than did children in the placebo group at 60 minutes (P = .02), 90 minutes (P = .002), and 120 minutes (P < .0001). The improvement in percent predicted FEV1 was significantly greater for children in the ipratropium group only at 120 minutes (P = .013). Nine children (20%) from the ipratropium group and 14 (31.1%) from the control group were admitted (P = .33, chi 2). There were no significant adverse effects attributable to the ipratropium, and there was no relation between ipratropium use and changes in pulse, respiratory rate, blood pressure, or oxygen saturation. CONCLUSION: We detected significant improvement in pulmonary function studies over 120 minutes in children with severe asthma who were given nebulized ipratropium combined with albuterol and oral steroids, compared with children who received the standard therapy. Further study is needed to determine whether early use of ipratropium decreases the need for hospitalization.  相似文献

Many studies have suggested a relationship between certain alleles of the human leukocyte antigen (HLA) and the prevalence of some diseases or the immunological responsiveness to certain antigens. Furthermore, our studies in the past have demonstrated decreased immune function among atomic-bomb survivors who were exposed to high doses of radiation. However, no studies have addressed the possibility of various degrees of radiation-induced immune suppression being dependent on HLA type. To investigate the possibility of differing frequency distributions of HLA type in the Hiroshima atomic bomb survivors, HLA-DQA1 alleles and HLA-DR antigens were typed for 291 survivors in a high-dose group (>1.5 Gy), 339 survivors in an intermediate-dose group (0.005-1.5 Gy), and 388 in a distally exposed control group (<0.005 Gy). These doses are whole-body exposures, mainly from gamma-rays but with a small neutron component. When examinees were grouped by distinct pairs of HLA-DQA1 allele or HLA-DR antigen, no sex- or dose-related differences were found. However, when subjects were grouped by the presence of a specific allele or antigen, males carrying DQA1*0103 in at least one of their two HLA-DQA1 loci exhibited frequency distributions that decreased as radiation dose increased. These results suggest, although weakly, a possible population bias among male survivors with respect to HLA polymorphism. However, this bias is unlikely to be great enough to have a substantial effect on the cancer risk estimates.  相似文献

In this study the concentration and chemical potential of oxygen in liquid Co-Ni alloys equilibrated with cobalt-nickel aluminate spinel solid solutions and alumina have been determined at 1773, 1823 and 1873K as a function of nickel concentration. The oxygen content of the melt has been measured by suction sampling and inert gas fusion analysis. The corresponding oxygen potential has been determined with the following solid state cell: Mo, Mo+MoO2 | (MgO)ZrO2 | (Co, Ni) melt + AI2O3 + (Co, Ni)O·(1+x)Al2O3, Mo. The effect of nickel on the activity coefficient of oxygen in Co-Ni alloys has been determined. The results for the activity coefficient have been modelled with Wagner's interaction parameters and also the more recent exponential method of St. Pierre et al. at the three temperatures.  相似文献

The Arabidopsis FAD7 gene encodes a plastid omega-3 fatty acid desaturase that catalyzes the desaturation of dienoic fatty acids in membrane lipids. The mRNA levels of the Arabidopsis FAD7 gene in rosette leaves rose rapidly after local wounding treatments. Wounding also induced the expression of the FAD7 gene in roots. To study wound-responsive expression of the FAD7 gene in further detail, we analyzed transgenic tobacco plants carrying the -825 Arabidopsis FAD7 promoter-beta-glucuronidase fusion gene. In unwounded transformants, FAD7 promoter activity was restricted to the tissues whose cells contained chloroplasts. Activation of the FAD7 promoter by local wounding treatments was more substantial in stems (29-fold) and roots (10-fold) of transgenic plants than it was in leaves (approximately two-fold). Significant induction by wounding was observed in the overall tissues of stems and included trichomes, the epidermis, cortex, vascular system, and the pith of the parenchyma. Strong promoter activity was found preferentially in the vascular tissues of wounded roots. These results indicate that wounding changes the spatial expression pattern of the FAD7 gene. Inhibitors of the octadecanoid pathway, salicylic acid and n-propyl gallate, strongly suppressed the wound activation of the FAD7 promoter in roots but not in leaves or stems. In unwounded plants, exogenously applied methyl jasmonate activated the FAD7 promoter in roots, whereas it repressed FAD7 promoter activity in leaves. Taken together, wound-responsive expression of the FAD7 gene in roots is thought to be mediated via the octadecanoid pathway, whereas in leaves, jasmonate-independent wound signals may induce the activation of the FAD7 gene. These observations indicate that wound-responsive expression of the FAD7 gene in aerial and subterranean parts of plants is brought about by way of different signal transduction pathways.  相似文献
